Formentera / Cala Sabina: 38 º N44 '001 ° E25'

July 2009

Cala Sabina, protected from south winds, is less than one NM from Puerto Sabina home to two marinas. We anchored by 5 m. sand bottom, just across from Tiburon ... Beach Club Formentera. This bar restaurant,  located on the Playa Cavall de Borràs is very nice and the food is good. 30 € for a meal including sangria made with champagne (Cava). Better book (659,638,945).

Note that a Zodiac from the marina picks up every day your trash for free.

The port of Sabina is not very large despite its two marinas. Few places and  102€ fee  for a 40 feet. A very charming little village, next to the ferry going  to Ibiza, and whose principal business is the rental bikes ... There are two supermarkets and two ship chandlers  And of course there are the saline. ..

Formentera / Cala Pujols: N43 º 38 'E 001 º 27'

July 2009

Pujols is a tourist village offering a multitude of restaurants, bars and shops without forgetting the craft market that is open every evening on the promenade along the beach. In the evening, the center of the village turns into a huge disco and Italians, in their majority are partying until very late. Drop anchor in a sandy bottom to the east of the small beach, you'll be calmer. A small pier in front of a restaurant (Italian!) will make your life easier. Note that by late afternoon a huge catamaran with over 100 passengers, just take a leap into the bay, with a sound system of the devil and jet skis to further increase the decibels. "Cala" to avoid for the lovers of nature and peace ...

Ibiza Cala Tarida 38 º N56 '001 ° E14'

We started this morning from Formentera, direction west coast of Ibiza before making the move to Mallorca. A good wind of 20 knots, NE, pushes us briskly over 6 knots with gusts sails. But the passage of the Isla Vedra wind has pushed more than 32 knots, which is less funny. With thunder in the distance and drops of rain, we decided to take a break in Cala Tarida, pretty cove, well protected from winds NE. Some bars and restaurants, a mini supermarket, but toomany people on the beach and not a lot of soul and character ...

Ibiza Cala Portinatx: 39 º N06 '001 ° E30'

Last Cala on the west coast of Ibiza, before sailing to Majorca, Cala Portinatx offers no great interest except supermarkets, bars and restaurants. The beach is crowded with tourists “all-included” that do not respect boundaries and areas of buoys for boats. Add sea scooters, water skiing, etc. ...  In fact we thought to return to the Cala Charraca, which precedes it and which is empty ... but we need Internet!
