Greece. Cyclades Middle

Ormos Ioannou (PAROS)  37ºN08'  025ºE13'

October 2010

This large bay is located at the NW of the island. Located within a natural Park, it is a real paradise. Sand beaches, mainly nudist, clear water and wonderful walking pads. Except the light house, a monastery and a tavern there are no more buildings. Close to it there a shipyard, specialized in wooden boats. Anchor in 4 meters in sand with good holding. Good protection from the Meltemi. there is a little pontoon for your tender. PHOTOS

Naousa (PAROS)  37ºN08'  025ºE13'

October 2010

Naousa is probably our favorite village and port in the Cyclades. The little port is divided in two section. One for the fishing harbor, and the other for sailbaots. The marina is free of charge till now but the man in charge say that it will cost 30€ per night in 2011. The electricity is charged 3 € per KW and the water 3€ for 100 liters of drinkable water. There are toilets and one showers. Good protection from the dominant winds. Alongside the quay of the mole, there are 3.5 meters depth, and only 1.8 m. on the side of the taverns. The man in charge will indicate you a place and give you assistance.   He speaks english, german and some italian. Note that a few rings are missing! And the gas oil station does not work, but a tanker can be called.

The village is very pleasant. It has kept its original lay out and there are not many <tourists> shops. There is a ship chandler, grocery shops, rent a car/ bike, etc.

You can also anchor on both sides of the village in little bays offering good protection from the S. winds. In case of Meltemi, it is better to go to Ormos Ioannou.
